Terms
Last updated October 15, 2026
Less4Food plans meals around this week's sales near you. The free plan costs nothing. Pro is $5.99 a month plus any sales tax, after 4 free weeks with no card, and renews each month until you cancel. Prices come from stores' own flyers, so check them at the shelf, and always read food labels.
These terms are a contract between you and Aria Fathifard, doing business as Less4Food("Less4Food", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Less4Food, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Less4Food.
Please read section 14. It says that most disputes between you and Less4Food will be settled by binding individual arbitration, not in court, and that you and we each give up class actions. You can opt out within 30 days.
1. What Less4Food does
Less4Food reads public weekly flyers and store prices near your ZIP code, plans meals for your household around the deals, builds one cart for the week, and shows what each deal saves against the regular price the store printed. We don't sell groceries, we don't set prices, and stores don't pay us to show their deals. Less4Food is for households in the United States.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Give us a real email address you can read, and keep your sign-in to yourself; you're responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else is using it, write to aria@less4food.com.
3. The free plan and Pro
- Free plan. Three dinners a week, planned from local deals, with the rest of the week's cart. There's no charge for it.
- Starting weeks. Every new household gets 4 weeks of Pro free, without a card. When they end, the household moves to the free plan unless you choose Pro.
- Pro renews automatically. Pro is $5.99 a month plus any sales tax, charged by Stripe to the payment method you give Stripe. It renews every month, on the same day of the month, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. If you choose Pro during your starting weeks, the first charge comes when they end; Stripe shows that date before you confirm, and we email you before the charge.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time on the Pro page: tap "Change or cancel Pro" and confirm on Stripe's page. If you cancel during your starting weeks, you won't be charged. Otherwise Pro stays on until the end of the month you've paid for, and then your household moves to the free plan. We don't refund part of a month, except where these terms or the law say we will.
- When a payment doesn't go through. Pro stays on while Stripe tries the payment again. If Stripe still can't collect it, Pro ends and your household moves to the free plan.
- Price changes. If Pro's price changes, we'll email you 2 to 4 weeks before the new price takes effect, with the new price and how to cancel. The new price starts at your first renewal after that. If you're charged a new, higher price and didn't mean to keep Pro, write to aria@less4food.com within 14 days of that charge; we'll cancel Pro and refund the part of that month you haven't used.
- Sales tax. Pro's price doesn't include sales tax. In states where we're registered to collect it, Stripe adds it at checkout and on each renewal, based on your billing address, and shows it on your receipt.
- A charge that looks wrong. Write to aria@less4food.com. We'll refund any charge we made by mistake.
4. Prices and deals
Deals come from stores' weekly flyers and price listings. We count a saving only when the store printed a regular price, and we work to keep every number right, but we can't promise that a price, deal or product shown matches what you find in the store. Stores change prices, limit quantities and run out of things, and the price the store charges at the register is the one that counts. Stores aren't bound by anything Less4Food shows. Savings we show are estimates against the regular price the store printed. Check the price at the shelf before you buy.
5. Meal plans and recipes
We write meal plans and recipes with the help of AI (Google's Gemini). They can get an amount, a time, a step or an ingredient wrong. Use your own judgment in the kitchen, and cook meat, poultry, seafood and eggs to safe temperatures (see foodsafety.gov).
6. Food safety, allergies and diets
We try to leave out what you tell us to avoid. We check each planned meal against the allergens, diet and food rules you give us, using the recipe's ingredients and the product names in the flyers. These checks can miss things: products can contain ingredients a flyer doesn't name, can be made alongside allergens, and stores can change or swap products. A meal that fits a food rule, such as halal or kosher, doesn't mean its products are certified. We can't promise that any meal, recipe or product is free of an allergen or fits a diet or food rule. Always read the label and ingredients before you buy, cook or eat. Less4Food isn't medical or nutrition advice; if you have a severe allergy or a medical diet, follow your doctor's guidance.
7. Store names and other people's rights
Store names, logos, flyer pictures and product names belong to their owners. Less4Food isn't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any store or brand it shows. If you think something on Less4Food uses your work or your brand in a way it shouldn't, write to aria@less4food.com and we'll look into it.
8. Using Less4Food fairly
Please don't:
- scrape, copy or republish Less4Food's data, or reach it with bots or other automated tools;
- reverse-engineer or copy the software;
- use Less4Food to break the law or harm anyone;
- interfere with how Less4Food runs.
9. Who owns what
We own Less4Food, its software and the deal data we put together. You own what you tell us about your household. You let us use it to run Less4Food for you and keep it working, as our Privacy page explains. If you send us ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
10. Other services
Stripe handles payments and Clerk handles sign-in, each under its own terms. Links to stores and other sites go to services we don't run, and we aren't responsible for them.
11. No warranty
Less4Food is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Less4Food will be uninterrupted, secure or free of mistakes, or that any deal, price, product, meal plan, recipe or safety check is accurate, complete or available.
12. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Less4Food is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Less4Food. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
13. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, if you break these terms or misuse Less4Food and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our losses from that claim. This doesn't cover claims caused by what we did.
14. Disputes
Talk to us first. Before starting an arbitration or a court case, write to aria@less4food.com with your name, your account's email address, what happened and what you'd like us to do. We'll write to your account's email address in the same way. We'll both try in good faith to settle it within 60 days.
Arbitration. If we can't settle it, any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or Less4Food will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where they apply, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The hearing happens by video or phone, on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live, as the AAA's rules allow. Fees are paid as those rules provide, and we won't ask you to pay our lawyers' fees unless the arbitrator finds your claim was frivolous. You and Less4Food each give up the right to a jury trial.
Exceptions. Either of us can take an individual claim to small-claims court instead, if it qualifies there. Either of us can ask a court to stop someone misusing intellectual property.
No class actions. You and Less4Food each bring claims only for yourselves, never as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. If a court decides this can't be enforced for a claim or a kind of relief, that claim or relief will be decided by a court, not in arbitration, after the individual arbitration ends. A claim for public injunctive relief, where the law lets you bring one, is decided by a court the same way. A court, not the arbitrator, decides whether this paragraph can be enforced.
Opting out. You can opt out of arbitration by writing to aria@less4food.com from your account's email address within 30 days of first accepting these terms, saying that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out doesn't change anything else in these terms.
If this section changes. A change to this section won't apply to a dispute either of us had already told the other about. You can turn down a change to this section by writing to aria@less4food.com within 30 days of our notice of it; the earlier version then keeps applying to you.
Which law, and which courts. California law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This doesn't take away any protection you have under the consumer laws of the state where you live that can't be given up by contract. A dispute that isn't arbitrated will be decided in the state or federal courts for the county where you live or in California.
15. Ending your account
You can stop using Less4Food at any time. You can delete your account yourself on the Household page, or ask us to by writing to aria@less4food.com. Deleting it stops Pro right away, without a refund for the rest of the month. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close an account for any other reason, we'll refund the part of any Pro month it hasn't used.
16. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using Less4Food after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel Pro and delete your account before then. We may also change, add or remove features. If a change takes away a main part of Pro, you can cancel and we'll refund the part of that month you haven't used.
17. Emails and notices
We send receipts, billing notes and notices about these terms to your account's email address, and they count as written notice. You can stop the weekly email at any time; notes about your account and Pro billing still come.
18. General
These terms and our Privacy page are the whole agreement between you and Less4Food. If a court finds part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies, except as section 14 says about class actions. If we don't enforce a part of these terms, we haven't given it up. We may transfer these terms if Less4Food is sold or merges; you may not transfer them without our written agreement. We aren't responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
